COMPONENTS:
1 Athame OR Wand
4 small white
candles
1 incense vessel, with incense
1 large red candle
1 small bowl or chalice, filled with water
1 small dish of salt, OR 1 clear quartz crystal
PREPARATION:
Arrange the items on the altar as following -
4 white candles at the four corners
Incense at the East corner
Red candle at the South corner
Chalice or bowl
at the West corner
Salt or crystal at the North corner
Athame or wand in the center
PROCEDURE:
Light the four white candles.
Grasping Athame or Wand in your RIGHT hand, turn and face the East corner. Turning inward, allow your natural energies
to flow freely within your body and soul. Connect on a spiritual level with the Eastern candle. Envision the spiritual essence
of Wind and Air swirling within the incense smoke.
"To the East, I summon the forces of Air, to blow out the
old and bring in the new on your Winds of Change."
Using the tip of your Athame or Wand, trace an invoking Widdershins (clockwise) Pentagram in
the air over the Eastern corner. Envision a light blue line of Power trailing behind the tip, forming the Pentagram in the
Astral world. At this time, several things may occur. A slight breeze, a shift in the air currents, a sudden gale may arise.
The presence of Air is felt.
Once Air has been summoned, turn to the South corner. Light the red candle and connect spiritually
with the dancing flame. Feel the passion of Fire burning deep within the candle...
"To the South, I summon the forces of Fire, to burn away
regrets, and shine your gentle rays upon me for growth."
Trace the invoking Pentagram above the candle, allowing the spirit of Flame to well up in the
South corner and in your heart. When Fire has been invoked, turn to the Western corner.
Gazing deep within the vessel of water, see the gentle currents sway within the watery chamber.
Reflect for a moment on the waters within your own body, and how they gently flow and ebb, subtly influencing your life.
"To the West, I summon the forces of Water, to cleanse
me of negativity and purify my thoughts."
Trace the invoking Pentagram above the vessel of Water.
Visualize a great pillar of Water rising up from the chalice. Connect with the nature of Sea and Ocean.
Turn to the Northern corner.
"To the North, I summon the forces of Earth. Let your renewing strength bury all ills and open new paths before
me."
Once more, invoke the essence of Earth above the crystal or salt using the Invoking Pentagram.
Visualize the soil beneath your feet sending waves of powerful strength up your legs and into your body, anchoring you to
the ground below.
